A Story Comes to Life. Readers' Voices from Argentina

What happens when a story leaves my hands and finds its way into the lives of young readers?

Flesh gets added to the bone and the story no longer just belongs to the author. Readers become co-creators , using their own experience and imagination to bring life to the story.

Every reader creates a slightly different version of the story in their mind. They fill in details that are not written on the page and connect events in the story to their own lives.

Stories change lives. They are a meeting place between the ideas of the author and the imagination of the reader.

This moving video was created by students from the Ken Institute de Inglés in Argentina who I had the good fortune to meet last year. After reading Egghead, the students imagined they could speak directly to the main character and recorded their own messages. Stories are not simply read. They are experienced, discussed and shared. Many thanks to the students and teachers of Ken Instituto de Inglés for allowing me to share this special moment.
