Reading Roadshow in Vietnam

These pictures make me smile. Before going to Vietnam I'd never really received flowers so I wasn't sure what to do with them and how to hold them. But there was one thing I was sure about - the people of this country. They were so kind, so overwhelmingly kind.

During the reading roadshow, we travelled from East to West, visiting schools in rural villages in Vietnam, bringing stories into the classroom, but also reading to each other along the way as we travelled on a small minibus, (more pictures to come soon).

I will always remember the children and the teachers I encountered on this trip. In fact I still see them online during 'Across the Sky' webinars. I hear a voice:

'Hello Mr. Michael'

And I know that a friend is there online, in the group, ready to read a story. By now the Across the Sky meetings involve students from many different countries, but the whole idea originated from this country, Vietnam.
