I had a lot of fun adapting this thriller, and following the ups and downs of the main character, Richard Hannay as he chases and gets chased by the bad guys.
The setting moves from London to Scotland. Action takes place in city streets, the open countryside, in coastal areas and inside government buildings. The story takes us to hidden meeting places, rented rooms, a farmhouse, trains and railway stations.
It was an exciting story to adapt.
And I love the question at the heart of the whole story.
What are the thirty-nine steps?
